The weeping Imam

As he read the verses, he wept
the unforgiving world,
where people judge your sins,
sins they commit themselves,
and they pride on their hatred,

hypocrisy,
love, no more meaning,
no one understands it,
he wept as love is simple,
made complicated

Lies, in everyday conversation
like vowels in words
He wept as he knew,
no one knew or cared
to the verses he read,
what more, to appreciate it

he felt sad,
as people thought he wept
being touched by the verses
he read.

Yes it came from Allah.
But he wept because of the world,
the people, society
to them God is far,
complications of life,
but He is right in their hearts,
yet they refuse

he wept of rejection,
rejection of the way of God.
Extremism too
and those who believe
to be better than others
very close to God
that they could judge others

He wept as he read the verses
on microphone
not knowing what tomorrow brings
praying, for a better world
praying, that he could do something
for a pure genuine happiness
one similar,
he describes as heaven
